Lobia or Black eyed peas Chaat is made with boiled Black eyed peas with Coriander mint Chutney and Tamarind chutney and a mix of chopped onion and tomatoes with a sprinkling of Chaat Masala. This Chaat is a protein and fiber packed Salad which is not only delicious , filling but a bonafide belly flattener too. Enjoy the weight watcher's Sweet and Spicy Chaat !

Ingredients
- 1 cup Peas (lobia or black eyed)
- 1 Onion (chopped big)
- 1 Tomato (chopped big)
- 1 Cucumber (chopped)
- 2 Green Chillies (chopped)
- a handful Coriander (chopped fresh)
- 1 Lemon (squeezed)
- 3 tbsp Tamarind chutney (or sweet, or tamarind sweet tamarind)
- 2 tbsp Coriander (or mint, or dhaniya, or pudina mint dhaniya pudina chutney)
- 1-2 tsp Chaat Masala (optional)
- 1-2 tsp Salt (or as per taste)

Instructions
- Wash and soak the lobia for 3-4 hours or overnight.
- Pressure cook the lobia for 10 minutes or till boiled with a little salt.
- Meanwhile chop the onion, tomatoes, cucumber, green chillies and coriander.
- Strain the boiled lobia (use the lobia water to knead your chapati dough or just use it in your daal) in a bowl .
- Add all the chopped veggies, chutneys, lemon juice and the chaat masala. Add less salt if you are using chaat masala to season it.
- Serve sprinkled with chopped coriander and enjoy.
Recipe Notes
Use Salt sparingly if you are using Chaat Masala.
