Village Tea
About Village Tea
On a recent weekend I drove to a village near Lucknow and stopped by a village tea stall for some tea and pakodas. Village tea has a distinct flavour and tastes different from the one we make at home. They make the tea on an earthen oven that's fired up with coal which makes the tea smoky. Even though they use the cheapest tea leaves the tea still tastes really delicious. They use sugarcane jaggery and ginger to enhances the flavor of the tea.I don't have an earthen oven at home but I tried to recreate the same flavor of the tea.
